Overview
EBD was contracted to complete the D & D Power project during the winter using our onboard, heated water lance. The low temperatures created challenges for excavation, as the frost was approximately 2' thick and difficult to penetrate. We were able to complete as many as eight excavations per day to stay just in front of the linemen. This efficiency allowed the project to be completed ahead of schedule.
As with many of our utility clients, D & D Power realized that using our service was more effective than hand digging. While we were on-site, they opted to have us excavate many of the holes that their crew would traditionally auger. This allowed the trained linemen to focus on what they do best: installing poles and rerouting lines.
