Overview
EBD worked in various sections of this historic building in downtown Rochester, New York. Work was done to retrofit this 6-story old building to become the new headquarters of a Fortune 500 company.
Our work involved asbestos abatement, shoring, selective demolition, interior excavation, hydro-excavation, and concrete cutting/coring. The most challenging part of EBD’s work was the removal of a large section of the stone foundation and old aqueduct system to accommodate the new elevator pit. This entailed core drills of 54" deep and shelf cutting and removal of a 10’ x 12’ x 48” slice of stone wall.
This project was a great example of EBD's versatility in removing building components from stone foundations, wood floors, steel beams, dirt excavation, MEP removals and asbestos abatement.
